A compact, slow-growing dwarf evergreen rhododendron forming a neat mound of small leaves. In mid to late spring it carries clusters of purple, funnel-shaped blooms, making it ideal for the front of borders, rock gardens and containers with ericaceous compost. Grow in acidic, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in partial shade, avoiding lime and strong midday sun; shelter from cold, drying winds for best results.
