A compact evergreen azalea valued for its profuse spring display and neat yearround foliage. Best in partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds, it prefers acid, humusrich, moist but freedraining soil; avoid lime and use rainwater for irrigation in hardwater areas. Ideal for containers with ericaceous compost or at the front of borders in woodland or Asianinspired plantings. Deadhead after flowering and mulch annually to conserve moisture.
