Perfect for terrariums, glass globes, mounted displays, or creative arrangements, these fascinating plants require no soil and thrive on air, light, and occasional misting.
Each 6-pack contains a beautiful variety of air plants chosen for contrast and balance featuring species such as Tillandsia ionantha, T. caput-medusae, T. brachycaulos, T. bulbosa, and other seasonal favourites (varieties may vary depending on availability). Some plants display silvery trichomes for a soft, frosted look, while others have bright green or red tones that intensify with good light. Many will even produce small, colourful blooms at maturity.
Compact, resilient, and endlessly versatile, this Air Plant Mix is ideal for creative displays perfect for beginners, collectors, and anyone seeking a modern, low-fuss plant arrangement.
Provide bright, indirect light. A bright windowsill, terrarium near natural light, or a well-lit shelf is ideal. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight for extended periods, which can dry out or scorch the leaves.
Mist the plants 23 times per week, or soak them in room-temperature water for 1520 minutes once a week. Shake off excess water and allow them to dry completely before placing back into displays to prevent rot. In winter or cooler conditions, water less frequently.
Temperature: Prefers warmth, 1828C. Avoid exposure below 10C.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity (5080%). Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, or grouped with other tropical plants.
Good air movement is essential. Do not enclose air plants in sealed containers for long periods they need airflow to stay healthy and prevent rot.
Feed monthly in spring and summer with a diluted bromeliad or air plant fertiliser mixed into your misting water to support growth and flowering.
Air plants can be displayed in almost endless ways place them in glass terrariums, driftwood mounts, decorative shells, hanging macram holders, or minimalist ceramic bowls. Theyre equally at home on desks, windowsills, or bathroom shelves.
Each air plant will grow and change shape over time. Mature specimens often produce small pups (offsets) that can be separated once large enough, allowing you to expand your collection easily.
Dry, curling leaves: Underwatering or too much direct sunlight.
Soft, brown base: Overwatering or poor airflow.
Faded colour: Insufficient light.
Tillandsia species are native to the forests, mountains, and deserts of Central and South America. As epiphytes, they grow on trees or rocks, absorbing moisture and nutrients through their specialised leaves. Their sculptural forms and minimal care needs make them perfect for modern homes, offering both beauty and simplicity.
