Osmanthus heterophyllus Goshiki is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub prized for its holly-like, boldly variegated leaves marbled cream, yellow and green, often flushed pink on new growth. In autumn it bears small, highly fragrant white flowers. Reliable in sun or light shade on moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, it makes an excellent year-round structural plant for borders or low hedging and can be trimmed after flowering; best in a spot sheltered from cold, drying winds.
