Sometimes called the Celebes Pepper Plant or Decorative Betel, it is treasured by collectors for its unique, jewel-like foliage.
The leaves are heart-shaped, glossy, and velvety to the touch, with a rich green to deep burgundy base. What makes Piper ornatum truly striking are the intricate metallic-pink to silver veins that trace across the leaf surface, creating a shimmering network of colour. The undersides of the leaves are typically flushed with burgundy, offering a dramatic contrast when viewed from different angles.
