Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, crotons are part of the Euphorbiaceae family and have been grown for centuries as decorative plants thanks to their flamboyant leaf patterns and rich colours.
Petra is particularly admired for its bold, leathery leaves, which can be large and elongated with pointed tips. The base colour of the foliage is a glossy dark green, dramatically patterned with veins and margins in shades of bright yellow, fiery orange, and deep red. This kaleidoscope of colours becomes more intense as the plant matures, with older leaves often developing rich burgundy tones.
