The foliage of Anthurium papillilaminum is broad, deeply cordate, and covered with a fine velvety sheen that gives the plant an almost black appearance under certain lighting. The prominent pale veins contrast beautifully against the dark leaf surface, creating a sculptural, high-end aesthetic. New leaves often emerge bronze or coppery before maturing into deep green or near-black tones.
