Originating from Japan, it is considered one of the best red dissectum varieties, holding its rich tones well into summer, unlike many red maples that fade to green or bronze.
Foliage: Deeply dissected, lace-like leaves emerge brilliant crimson in spring, develop into a striking deep burgundy to purple-red through summer, and turn a vivid scarlet red in autumn, providing a long season of interest.
Habit: Forms a beautiful cascading, mounded shape, typically reaching 1.52 metres high and spreading to 2.53 metres, with elegantly arching branches that create a layered, dome-like canopy.
