Description:The Areca palm, or butterfly palm, makes a statement. A basic in any indoor garden where you need an exotic look. It is also a good air purifying plant.

Light requirement:Brightroomwith plenty of indirect sunlight

Water requirement:Moderate. Keep the compost moist but not soggy, allowing the top layer of soil to dry. As for any tropical plant, misting is essential to prevent browning of the tips.

Soil:Moist but well-drained (House plant mix)
